Annual Club Competition

The Annual Club Competition took place on Monday 30 June at the Marksbury Dojo. The competition comprised of two rounds, the first was Kata followed by Kumite.

Tony, Healey, Jack, Jade, Callum and Georgia all qualified for the finals, with Tony, Jack and Georgia competing in a very tight three-way final. After a replay between Tony and Georgia, Tony just edged ahead to take first place, with Georgia in Second, and Jack Third.

The Kumite round was equally close, with Kody, Tony, Jack, Callum, Jade and Healey qualifying for the finals. Kody, Jack and Healey competed in the semi-final, with Jack and Kody fighting a very close final. It took three rounds and a referees decision before Kody emerged the winner on points. Kody took First Place, Jack Second, and Healey Third (an excellent result for a white belt!).

As there were equal winners on points, the top five, Tony, Georgia, Jack, Kody and Healey competed against each other in a knockout for overall winner. Tony beat Georgia, and Jack beat Kody and Healey, and in another close fight, just beat Jack to be overall winner. The fight-off for third place was done by Kata, and Georgia just beat Kody to take third. The Final Result:

Well done to everyone who took part; the quality of competitors was excellent. The Cups were presented to the winners by Frank Teall, the club's Chief Instructor.
