Grading Success 7 December

Eleven members of the
Club attended the Grading and training on Sunday 7
December, with a record success achieving, three 5th
Kyu (Purple Belt), two 7th Kyu (Yellow Belt), three
8th Kyu (Red Belt) and three 9th Kyu (Orange Belt).
These are the best results achieved for many years.
Congratulations to all who graded.
100%
Grading Passes
The Club achieved 100%
pass rate at the Gradings on 26 July, with two
beginners double grading to red belt. Five students
took their grading, with Tony, Georgia and Emily
achieving 6th Kyu Green Belt, and Healey and Leona
double grading straight to 8th Kyu Red Belt. Well
done to all who took part.

Competition Result
The Annual Club
Competition took place on Monday 30 June. In a very
closely run competition, Jack finished as Winner,
with Tony being Runner-up. Third place went to
Georgia. Well done to all who took part.

Demonstration at Marksbury
All members who are free on
12 July are required for a Club demonstration at
Marksbury. The Club will give a fifteen minute
demonstration of Kata and Kumite. This is an excellent
opportunity for us to promote the Club, so please
support us! Please arrive by 1300 to prepare.

take place on Saturday 26 July at St Bernadette's
School, Whitchurch. Registration will begin at 11.30
with training starting at 12.00, and the grading
starting at 14.00, finishing around 17.30. The
Grading, with the training session before, will cost
£16. The training session only, will cost £5.

Competition - 30 June
There will be a Club
Competition on Monday 30 June at Marksbury Dojo. The
competition is open to all Club members, and will
consist of Kata and Kumite.
New
Club Membership Card
A new Club Membership
Card is now available; the card will give a 10%
discount on Karate products from Norton Sports and
Camping.
Christmas Break (Last Training 17 Dec)
There will be no
training on 20, 24, 27, 31 December, 3 January 08.
The first training session of the new year will be
on Monday 7 January at Marksbury Dojo.

Beginners Class
A beginners class will
run at the Marksbury Dojo from 25 February for five
weeks. The five special classes will cover the
basics including blocks, stances and punches. The
first lesson is free, just email or phone to say
that you're coming.

Grading Details Announced
The next Grading will
take place with Imperial Karate on 8 December at St
Bernadette's School, Whitchurch. Training will be
from 1030 to 1200, with the Grading starting at 1pm.
The cost will be £16, which includes the cost of
training.

started at Timsbury Dojo on Thursday 20 September,
and Marksbury on 24 September. The hall was well
packed, but there are still a few places for new

Club News Feature The club was
featured in the Somerset Guardian newspaper last
week (13 September). If you haven't had a chance to
buy one, do so quickly, alternatively, if you are
too late, the Club Secretary has a copy of the
paper.

New Club
Badge The new club badge is now
available. The 90mm badges can be worn on your
Karate Gi (top left chest), jackets, and put on
sports bags. They will cost £1.25 each, and are
available from the Club Secretary.

Eight Club Members attended
the Grading at St Bernadette's School, Whitchurch on
Saturday 23 April. Two novices got their Orange Belt;
five Orange Belts got their Red Belts, and David
Aldridge got his Brown and Double White Belt.

Six Club Members
attended the Grading at St Bernadette's School,
Whitchurch on Sunday 1 April, which turned out to be
a very long, but rewarding day. Five novices took
their first grading, and all got their Orange Belts,
and David Aldridge got his Brown & White Belt.
