Membership is open to anyone aged 5 and
over, regardless of sex or physical or mental ability. However, when
accepting someone to membership of the Club, the overall safety and
wellbeing of that
prospective member, and the safety of other members has to be considered.
Therefore, members with significant health or ability issues may have
conditions placed on their membership. For example, a child with a
learning disability may require the support of a parent at lessons. It
is the responsibility of parents to ensure that a junior member has the
physical fitness and ability required to undertake the training in
Karate, and expert medical advice should be taken if there is any doubt.
Medical Advice
Adult members are also responsible for ensuring that they take medical
advice before starting training, especially if there is any record of heart
conditions or the possibility of any other medical risk.
Call Before Attending
Prospective Members should contact the Club
Instructor, Frank Teall, before attending a lesson, either by telephone
on 01761 471936 or by
.
Free "Taster" Lesson
New members can attend the first lesson for
free, to see whether they would like to join the club. Once a new member
has decided to join, they must apply for KUGB membership which ensures
that they are properly insured to undertake training. Membership forms are available from the
Instructor.
